Printable badminton score sheet options

  • Singles or doubles. Doubles sheets get a row per player, labelled A1, A2, B1, B2, so you can see who should be serving.
  • Point tally or rally grid. The tally has numbered boxes from 0 to 30 (0 to 21 for 15-point games) for each side; the rally grid has a blank column for every rally, umpire style.
  • 1, 2 or 3 games. Best of three is standard; use one game for round robins and club nights.
  • A4 or US Letter, landscape. Layout is in millimetres, so what you see is what prints.
  • Blank quick sheet. Tick it to print empty sheets to fill in by hand at the venue.
  • Several matches per page. Two or three tally sheets on one page save paper for club nights; cut along the dashed line.

How to fill in a badminton score sheet

Point tally

  1. Before the first serve, mark S next to the first server and R next to the first receiver.
  2. Each time a side wins a rally, strike through its next number. The shaded box marks the interval point (11, or 8 for 15-point games), and the heavy line marks the target score.
  3. At the end of the game, write the final score in the last box, and tick intervals and change of ends.

Rally grid (umpire style)

Use one column per rally. When a side wins a rally, write its new score in the row of the player who will serve next for that side. Reading along the rows then shows both the score and the service order, which makes disputes about who should be serving easy to settle. In doubles, remember that the serving side swaps courts only when it wins a point on its own serve; the doubles serving order guide walks through it.

Badminton score sheet for doubles

Doubles is where paper sheets earn their keep. The sheet shows each player separately so you can mark the first server and receiver every game (either player of a pair may serve first in a new game). The rule to apply between rallies: the serving side serves from the right court on an even score and from the left on an odd score (BWF Laws of Badminton, Law 11). The doubles rules cover the court lines and the long service line, and badminton scoring explains deuce and the 30-point cap.

Using score sheets for club tournaments

For a club event, print one sheet per match: generate the schedule with the round robin generator or the bracket generator, then print blank quick sheets, three per page, and put a stack on each court with a pen. Players fill in names and the match number from the draw, and hand the sheet in when they finish. If someone has a phone or tablet courtside, the online score keeper does the same job with automatic serving positions and a shareable result.

From 4 January 2027 the BWF moves to games of 15 points (two clear from 14-all, 21 wins at 20-all), with 21-point games still allowed by prior arrangement. Choose 15 points under Scoring and the tally runs 0–21 with the interval box at 8.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download the badminton score sheet as a PDF?

Press Print / Save as PDF, then choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the printer in the dialog. Set the layout to landscape if your browser asks, and turn off headers and footers for a clean page.

Is there a score sheet for badminton doubles?

Yes. Choose Doubles and the sheet gets a row for each of the four players (A1, A2, B1, B2) with service columns, so you can track who served and received first in each game.

Can I print more than one match on a page?

Yes. With the point tally layout you can fit two or three matches on one landscape page; tick Blank quick sheet to print empty ones for a tournament. The umpire-style rally grid needs a full page.

Why does the score sheet go up to 30?

Under the BWF Laws a game to 21 can go beyond 21 at deuce (20-all), and at 29-all the 30th point wins, so 30 is the highest possible score. Sheets for 15-point games go up to 21.

Is the score sheet free to use?

Yes, free for clubs, schools, leagues and coaches, with no sign-up. Your settings are saved only in your browser.
