Privacy policy

Your games stay on your iPhone. Badminton Sensei does all of its work on your device. We do not collect, store, share or sell any of your data.

Effective 4 October 2026 · The “This website” section was updated 4 November 2026.

The short version

All video analysis runs on your iPhone. The app makes no network requests.

No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no servers.

We collect no data. The App Store label for the app is “Data Not Collected”.

Your videos and stats are deleted when you delete them in the app or delete the app.

Anything you share leaves your iPhone only because you chose to share it.

Who we are

Badminton Sensei is an iPhone app published by IS Browser LLC (“we”, “us”). In this policy, “the app” means Badminton Sensei for iOS, including its widgets and Live Activity, and “the website” means badmintonsensei.com.

For anything about privacy, email [email protected].

What the app does with your information

To track the shuttle, recognise shots and keep score, the app processes the following on your iPhone, using Apple’s Core ML and Vision frameworks:

  • Videos you film in the app or choose from your Photos library, and their audio.
  • Information derived from those videos, such as the shuttle’s path, player positions and body pose, court lines, shots, line calls, scores and statistics.
  • Faces in your videos, only to blur or replace them when you ask the app to before sharing. Faces are not used to identify anyone.
  • Things you enter, such as player names, crew and tournament details, and your settings.

This processing happens entirely on your device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers to send it to, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or other third-party SDKs that could.

Where your data is stored

Videos, analysis results and stats are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. Some summary information, such as your last score, is shared with the app’s own widgets on the same device so they can display it.

If you use iCloud Backup or back up your iPhone to a computer, the app’s data may be included in that backup according to your device’s backup settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or by your computer, not by us, and we cannot access them.

Permissions and why we ask

The app asks for permission only when you use a feature that needs it. You can change any of these at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.

PermissionWhy
CameraTo film your games so the app can track the shuttle and players.
MicrophoneTo record game audio with your video. You can mute it when you share highlights.
PhotosTo let you choose match videos to analyse, and to save highlight reels and share cards to your library.
Contacts (optional)To show a player’s photo on stats and cards if you link them to a contact. Contacts stay on your iPhone.
Local networkTo share results and cards directly with friends’ iPhones nearby, without the internet.
Notifications (optional)To tell you when a match you left analysing is ready. These are local notifications created on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server.

The app does not request your location, does not use advertising identifiers and does not ask for permission to track you.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect personal data, usage data, diagnostics, device identifiers or any other information from the app. We do not sell or share personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous App Store statistics, such as download counts, and crash reports from users who have chosen to share them with app developers in their iPhone settings. That information is collected by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and does not identify you to us.

Sharing you start

Some features let you send things off your iPhone. These happen only when you choose them, and you decide what goes where:

  • Share sheet. When you share a highlight reel, card or result, it goes to the app or person you pick, using iOS’s share sheet. What happens next is governed by that app or service.
  • Saving to Photos. Reels and cards you save go to your Photos library, which follows your own Photos and iCloud Photos settings.
  • Nearby crew sharing. Results and cards you share with your crew are sent directly between nearby iPhones you invite, using Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity with encrypted sessions. They do not pass through any server and never reach us.

Before you share a video, think about who appears in it. The app can blur or replace faces to help.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and can be used by anyone. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. If you are a parent or guardian with a question, contact us at the address below.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your iPhone for as long as you keep it there. You can delete any match, along with its video and stats, from inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone. Match videos are left out of iCloud and device backups unless you turn on “Include videos in iCloud backup” in the app’s Settings; scores and stats are backed up with your iPhone. Copies you have shared, saved to Photos or included in a device backup are not affected and can be removed in those places.

Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. Everything is already under your control on your device.

Security

The app’s files are protected by iOS Data Protection, which encrypts them using your device passcode. Nearby crew sharing uses encrypted connections. Keeping a passcode on your iPhone is the best way to protect your games.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR in the European Union and United Kingdom and the CCPA in California give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We respect these rights. Because we do not collect or hold any personal data, there is none for us to provide, change or delete, and we never sell or share it. If you have a question or concern, contact us and we will reply. You can also contact your local data protection authority.

This website

This website, badmintonsensei.com, sets no cookies, has no analytics or ads, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting server and Cloudflare, our content delivery network, process standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. We do not use that data to identify or profile visitors.

The free tools on this website run in your browser. Some remember what you entered, such as player names or a score in progress, in your browser’s local storage so it is still there next time. That stays on your device and is never sent to us; clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect. If a future version of the app ever needs to collect data, we will say so clearly here and in the App Store privacy label first.
